The Barclay flags are back! Read on to find out about some subtle changes to what will happen in the Barclay Lower on Saturday....
We know a lot of fans have been disappointed around the absence of the supporter funded flags in the Barclay Lower so far this season. We have shared the sense of frustration around this, while acknowledging the club have a difficult job in balancing the return of supporters with people’s safety.
We are pleased to say that after constructive discussions with the club, flags will be back in the Barclay Lower this Saturday for the Brighton match.
Due to ongoing restrictions, there will be some small changes to the way in which these are collected back in.
Previously you will have noticed a group of volunteers collecting back in flags at half-time. Many of you helped by collecting the flags around you, passing them onto the volunteers and we thank you for this, it really helped.
However, this meant that multiple people were touching the flags before they were placed back into storage. We are aiming to minimise this for the games ahead.
As such, there is an opportunity to now keep the flags in the Barclay Lower for the entirety of the match.
The flags will be placed on seats before the game, by the usual volunteers who will all need to return a negative lateral flow test before arrival at the ground.
The flags can then be used all game, and we are encouraging supporters to create a wall of yellow of green, especially as the players arrive onto the pitch, both pre-match and after the half-time interval.
All we then ask is for supporters to return the flags to the designated bins placed at Exit gate 4 and Exit gate 6 after the game as they leave the ground.
Alongside that, as always, we urge people to get behind the team for what is another hugely important game.
We can be a marginal gain, to make a difference to what happens on the pitch. In a time where football is eating itself and the glamorisation of money is commonplace, let’s be proud of who we are and how this team was built.

Great news, now get some nice beer on tap in the Barclay bar!!!
Did the trick last time 😂😂
In these constructive discussions with the club, is the booming loud awful music right up to ko ever discussed?
Why not stop it at 2.50 and let the crowd create an atmosphere??
As well as fewer droplets in the air due to everyone shouting at each other to be heard above the s—t racket that is.
Brilliant. Should work. Can we do this for. Every home game and if successful, extend it around the ground.
