Norwich City played Manchester City on 21 August 2021. Let's get this over with, says Ffion Thomas...
Biggest Positive
That it’s over with and we don’t have to go to Man City and get absolutely hammered again for at least another calendar year. (I’m writing this on my phone on the train home and also I don’t want to talk about it, so these answers are going to be brief.)
Biggest Problem
I can take losing to a world-class team, but they didn’t have to get anywhere near that standard and we still didn’t get anywhere near them and didn’t seem to have a clue how to.
Funniest moment of the game
A VAR goal decision going our way on a day we lose 5-0 feels like someone at Stockley Park has a sense of humour.
Norwich’s best player
Not a great afternoon for the left-backs, especially if they’re reading Farke’s post-match quotes, but Bali Mumba showed some good touches having been chucked in at the deep end.
Did an Along Come Norwich happen?
English football’s first £100m player scoring what will probably be the shittest goal of his entire career by having it bounce off his knee and in.
What was the atmosphere like?
It was nice to be back in an away end, and a good effort from those in the lower tier getting the catchy new Milot Rashica song off the ground, which kept us going most of the second half.
Summary
Looking forward to the season starting. Hopefully that’s next week.
